Yesterday, 11th October was the first court sitting for the suit filed by the investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas against the MP for Assin North, Kennedy Ohene Agyapng at the High Court for defamation.
At the end of the first court sitting, the application filed by Kennedy Agyapong’s lawyers for the suit to be thrown out for multiple reasons was declined.

However, one of the applications which bothered on the multiple addresses filed by Anas’ lawyers was upheld. Anas apparently provided 3 different addresses on his suit.
The court gave Anas 10 days to rectify the mistakes on the suit and awarded damages to Kennedy Agyapong but the MP decline and told the court he will not be taking any damages from Anas.

The court, however, stated they will rule on another constitutional petition for dismissal bothering on the identity of Anas on the next sitting.
Anas Aremeyaw Anas after the premiere of his Ghana Football exposé had a series of encounters with Kennedy Agyapong which Anas found it defamatory.

He sued the Member of Parliament for defamation and petition the court to award him GH¢24 million in damages.
