Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, the MP for Assin Central has finally apologized to the majority leader of parliament Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu for unwarranted insults heaped on him and parliament of Ghana for an alleged contempt statement made against the august house.
In the heat of Kennedy Agyapong – Anas brouhaha, Kennedy Agyapong insulted the majority leader of parliament Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu for siding with Anas. He also allegedly called parliament “Useless”.
Kennedy Agyapong denied calling parliament “useless” but rather said parliament has become “Cheap”. But because the Twi word for both is similar, Hon. Muntaka Mubarak who raised the issue in parliament misinterpreted the word.
Kennedy Agyapong vowed never to apologize and will resign from parliament if the need be but he has finally eaten the humble pie and apologize to parliament at the second sitting of the Privileges Committee.
After showing the videos of him making the said comment and heaping insult on the majority leader and back and forth between them as to whether he used the word”Chea” or “Useless”, Kennedy Agyapong apologized to the majority leader of parliament, Hon. Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu.
He also apologized to parliament for describing it as a “Cheap Parliament” not “Useless Parliament”.
His team declined to cross-examine Hon. Muntaka Mubarak who raised the issue in parliament. It was his concerns raised in parliament that led to the sitting in the first place.
