The Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Service has said that it will soon begin measures to look into recent charges by lawmaker Kennedy Agyapong against some pastors in Ghana.

The Public Relations Officer for the CID in Accra, DSP Juliana Obeng, told GhanaWeb on Thursday, June 18, 2020, in the wake of Mr. Agyapong’s stated crusade against religious leaders he claims are duping many Ghanaians, the Department is also considering recommendations for police protection for the Assin Central MP.

DSP Obeng was, nevertheless, secretive about when the CID will start looking into the allegations and how the department intends to go about it.

According to Ghanaweb news, Security expert, Mr. Adam Bona, earlier this week called on the CID to take prompt steps to validate the credibility of some of Honorable Kennedy Agyapong’s allegations.

He stated that it would be prudent for the police to take an extreme interest in the evidence Kennedy Agyapong says he has collected against some of these so-called fraudulent pastors.

The security expert also urged the security agencies to provide protection for the politician following his claim that assassins have been hired to take his life.

Honorable Kennedy Agyapong began his crusade by taking on the Head Pastor of the International God’s Way Church, Bishop Daniel Obinim and broadcasting videotapes he said are evidence of the pastor’s double life and criminal activities.
