German-born Ghanaian midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng who currently plays for Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt has revealed that he doesn’t like his first name and that it was given by mistake.

He disclosed that he dislikes his first name because of an error on his birth certificate which stopped him from being called Kelvin-Prince.

The player said in an interview with local station HIT Radio FFH that “I don’t like my first name,” while explaining why he had only “Prince” on his shirt.
“I should have been called Kelvin that would have been a top name: Kelvin-Prince.”
“That was a mistake on the birth certificate – no one knows that.
“I wouldn’t have had to play football then, because that name alone is already stellar, and then they wrote it wrong in the hospital.
“That’s why I am called Kevin and it stayed that way.
“My mum had surgery right after the birth and couldn’t intervene.”
Kevin-Prince Boateng has made 15 appearances for the Ghana Black Stars and has scored 2 goals for the senior national team.
