‘Kidnapped’ Tarkwa SHS student found in boyfriend’s room – Police CID

According to a report from the Police CID in the Western Region, the Tarkwa Senior High School female student who was reportedly kidnapped has been found camped in boyfriend’s room

Augustina Ndaago, a Home Economist student signed an exeat to visit her mother in Prestea but never arrived home and that led to her mother reporting to the police that her daughter has been kidnapped.

The school’s authority’s statement earlier reads: “On Thursday 24th January 2019, around 12:30noon, Augustina’s brother called the housemistress to inform her that a “supposed” kidnapper had sent him a text message that Augustina together with two others had been kidnapped and were in their custody.”

However, Upon thorough investigation by the police, it was found that the girl on her way to home met a guy who proposed to her and she followed him to his house.

The police added that the girl spent several days with the guy with both of them sleeping together in the same room.

The suspect, Augustina Ndaago’s boyfriend is currently with the police for interrogation on why he kept her overnight according to the Director-General of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Ghana Police Service, DCOP Maame Tiwaah Addo-Danquah.

“It is something that we have arrested the suspect. Apparently, the lady met the guy, the guy proposed to the lady and she followed him to his house. They slept. The guy is in police custody and we have begun the investigation. That lady is around, we are talking to him and we are interrogating the suspect to understand the circumstances under which the whole issue happened,” she said.
