A few days ago Ghanaian Dancehall artiste Charles Nii Armah Mensah popularly known as Shatta Wale was gifted a Range Rover on his 35th birthday. According Shatta Wale, the gift came from his godfather.
Ghanaians then assumed the said godfather was Ghanaian Oil and Gas Entrepreneur, Kofi Abban who gifted Shatta Wale with the Range Rover 2019.
This assumptions led several online news outlets to publish stories about Kofi Abban being the said Godfather who bought the Range Rover for Shatta Wale.
In a recent development Kofi Abban has rubbished all rumours of being the person who gifted Shatta Wale the Range Rover. In a post on social media Kofi Abban set records straight.
He wrote;
“There is no iota of truth in the claim that I, Kofi Abban, have given a Range Rover to Shatta Wale as a birthday gift.
Whoever originated the story got it all wrong, and it is clear the story was based on wrong speculation. The fact that Shatta Wale had made reference to ‘a Godfather’ on Instagram, said to have given him the car, should not have been taken to mean I am the brain behind the car,”
He added;
“I am not the Godfather he is referring to, and so I take a serious exception to the entirely false publication,”
Shatta Wale, also addressed these rumours. According to him, he is very unpleased with the false publications.
He took to his Instagram account, to discredit all the publications that suggested that Kofi Abban was the godfather who gifted him the Range Rover. He urged all online publishers to check their facts before publishing stories;
He wrote;
“All the bloggers spreading false rumours about my friend should stop right now. I didn’t tell you he bought me a car. Let’s try and make this life we living be a better one for us all,”
Ghanaians and fans are still curious to know the mystery godfather who gifted Shatta Wale the car. Who could this mystery godfather be?
