According to the Tamp3 Kukuo youth chief who led the assault, they are doing this to send message to the people of Tamale that Kulu comes from a family and they won’t allow anyone to disrespect their family base on her actions.

”We want people to know that you have a family, you have a mother and father…we can’t allow such shame in our house. We also want by this tell your colleagues that you can’t just do whatever you want and get away with it”
