Since yesterday, the most trending news in Ghana is the report that the president of Ghana Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo has ordered the arrest of the president of Ghana Football Association, Kwesi Nyantakyi for defrauding by false pretence.

According to the report, the president after watching the yet to be released latest corruption exposé by the ace investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas ordered for the arrest of Kwesi Nyantakyi

Mr Nyantakyi in the yet-to-be-released exposé of investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas was heard saying he has the President(Akufo-Addo) in his pocket. The reason for his immediate arrest is ‘defrauding by false pretence’.

It seems he’s not the only one who’s been hit with this scandal as a new video has surfaced online that sees two GFA officials negotiating a match-fixing with a what we believe to be the undercover investigator.

In baiting the two officials to reveal more information, the investigator asked if there were referees who were noted for making such results happen.

The two officials revealed that they had their own referees who could change the outcome of matches. However, such referees had to be paid some money in order to get them to do the job.

In the video, FIFA registered players’ agent Christopher Forsythe and GFA official Obed Nketiah is seen engaging in a match-fixing conversation to persuade their client to pay a certain amount of money to them and the match officials who would be involved.

They added that they could decide the outcome of the match in favour of whoever they wanted to win. Mr Christopher Forsythe is noted to have said in the video that when matches were lost, the only thing the fans could do was to eat and get drunk.

He went on to say that the effect of losing and the uproar that accompanied it lasted for only 24 hours so there was nothing to worry about.
