Kwesi Nyantakyi’s suspension by FIFA extended

Embattled former president of the Ghana Football Association Kwesi Nyantakyi has gotten his suspension from football governing body FIFA extended by an additional 45 days making his suspension now 135 days.

Kwesi Nyantakyi who until his suspension was the CAF first vice president was initially suspended on 8 June for 90 days by the adjudicatory chamber of Fifa’s the Ethics Committee after an investigation by Anas Aremeyaw Anas exposed him for being corrupt.

Mr. Nyantakyi was filmed in an undercover investigation by ace undercover journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas taking $65,000 (£48,000) from an undercover reporter pretending to be a businessman.

Some of the footage from Anas’ film was later broadcast by the BBC World Service’s investigation’s programme Africa Eye.

In a letter dated today 5th September 2018, FIFA explained that the suspension for the former GFA president has been extended by another 45 days.
