A young Ghanaian woman has taken to social media to express deep grief and outrage after her uncle died at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital due to alleged negligence by nurses on duty.
According to her heartbreaking account, her uncle suffered a severe asthma attack and was rushed to the nation’s premier health facility for emergency care.
However, upon arrival, the family was informed that the nurses were on strike and, as such, could not attend to the critically ill man.
In an emotional tone, the lady described how her uncle was left lying helplessly on the hospital’s floor as he gasped for air and pleaded for help.

She painfully recounted how the nurses stood by yet refused to offer any form of medical assistance despite the family’s desperate appeals.
“My uncle died right there on the floor. His wife begged them, even said she would pay anything, but they just stood and watched,” she wrote.
The grieving woman added that her uncle, who had been married for only three years, died without having any biological children.
The disturbing revelation has sparked heated conversations online, with many calling for an urgent investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Critics are demanding accountability from hospital authorities and questioning the ethical implications of health workers refusing emergency care under the pretext of industrial action.
