The two armed robbers who in a Rambo style wielding locally made guns snatched an unregistered Hyundai Elantra vehicle in a broad day light and shot to unprovoked police officers in the process have been apprehended by the Ghana police service last night.
The scene of Lapaz right in front of Las Palmas restaurant was like the scenes in Hollywood action movie when two armed robbers robbed someone at gun point. People took to their hills and run for their lives.
In the attempt to flee the scene of the crime, these two men snatched an unregistered Hyundai Elantra vehicle and shot two police officers in the process.
One of the police officers lost his life instantly with the other one being severely injured. He was rushed to the police hospital at Osu for emergency treatment.
But information reaching Ghpage.com has it that the two armed robbers have been arrested by the police investigative body barely 24 hours after the incident. They were hiding in their hideout between Mallam and Kasoa, both a suburb of Accra.
The source also disclosed that the armed robbers abandoned the vehicle they stole at Ablekuma fan milk.The vehicle has since been retrieved by the police.
Speaking to Ghpage.com, the police source further disclosed although the perpetrators of this heinous crime have been arrested, they are still being questioned by the police to gather more information to enable them to get to the bottom of this Rambo style robbery.
