The Director-General of Public Affairs of the Ghana Police Service, ACP David Senanu Eklu has condemned the humiliating arrest of Ghanaian female blogger, Ohemaa Candace by Abeiku Santana and Lilwin at the premises of Peace FM in the full glare of UTV cameras.
According to the ACP David Senanu Eklu, the machoism exhibited by Abeiku Santana who is the main architect behind the arrest of the blogger and Lilwin were unfortunate because the police do not involve itself in such kind of public display of bullying.

The respected police officer speaking with Andy Dosty on Day Break Hitz on Hitz FM explained that the police only involve itself in the arrest of a journalist for false publication if and only if the publication creates FEAR AND PANIC in the country.
He explained further that the Criminal Libel law has been repelled (in 2001) and it’s only publications causing fear and panic can the police come in; any other false publication, the aggrieved individual can only sue the publisher or report him/her to the National Media Commission
And in the situation of Ohemaa Candace, there was no such thing as fear and panic so it was needless for the police to be involved in the humiliating arrest of a journalist like Abeiku and Lilwin did just because they are in a position of influence and some sort of power.
Touching on the use of handcuffs on Ohemaa Candace, ACP David Senanu Eklu explained that, the used of handcuffs come into play depending on several factors such as the level of violence being exhibited by the person who is being arrested and the crime committed.
However, using Handcuffs on Ohemaa Candace was uncalled for and he condemns it. Meaning not only did the police had no right to arrest Candice let alone in that humiliating manner, but the use of handcuffs was also absolutely needless.

“There was no fear and panic with regards to the Lilwin issue so I am surprised the Police was even involved.” ACP David Eklu stated
“The action of the Police was wrong and the kind of Blogger’s offense does not warrant the use of handcuffs,” the Director-General of Public Affairs of the Ghana Police Service, ACP David Senanu Eklu told Andy Dosty.

Ohemaa Candace was arrested by Kumawood comedian, Kwadwo Nknsah Lilwin and Abeikua Santana for publishing an article on her website GhSplash.com that, “Kwadwo Nkansah has knocked someone down with his car”.
However, she added that Kwadwo Nkansah denied these accusations and explained that Lilwin claimed the person just jumped on his car and accused him of knocking him.

In a full Rambo and emperor Kingship style, Abeiku Santana who distorted his interview with Joselyn Dumas a few weeks ago to promote his talk show led the schemed and Lilwin who recently defamed former cocoa boss, Dr. Opuni on live TV arrested Candace
In the full glare of UTV cameras, Abeiku Santana accused, judged and condemned Candace for publishing fake news and even discredited her website on a National television (As if they are credible).
She was made to sleep behind bars at the Tesano Police station. The same police station built and furnished by Dr. Osei Kwame Despite, Abeiku Santana’s boss.
