—Stephen Atubiga is my favorite Presidential candidate-Mahama mocks

—Stephen Atubiga became popular during 2012 presidential supreme court election petition as a contemnor.

—He gained the name ‘professional elatrician’when he was asked of his occupation which he said the aforementioned instead of “Professional electrician”.

No wonder a mere mention of his name as NDC’s presidential candidate drew spontaneous laughter when Ex-President John Dramani Mahama mentioned him as his favorite for that position.

The former president, left patrons of the party’s unity walk at Cape Coast in the Central Region cracking up when he disclosed that former contemnor, Stephen Atubiga is his favorite Presidential Candidate— among the lot seeking to lead the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in 2020.

Fmr Prez Mahama’s comment attracted spontaneous laughter from the crowd who may have been wondering why he will settle on the from Binduri as his favorite when there is pressure on he himself to declare his intention.

Apparently, Stephen Atubiga who is also a member of the party’s communications team has promised the former president to give him a run for his money.

“ I can’t wait for what am hearing out there to be a reality, As to JDM coming back to contest others and myself this Congress to lead NDC. I have news for JDM And Ibrahim Mahama. I will give them a run for their money. I will match them boot to boot, dollar to dollar, cedi to cedi, Euros to Euros”, he stated.

In Cape Coast on Sunday, the former President Mahama said that:

“I have no problem with any of my colleagues who have expressed interest in leading this Great Party. Let us not attack anyone because whoever is elected to lead us to victory 2020 will need the support of each and everyone.

Spio was my Boss and later became my minister, Joshua was my colleague in parliament and later became the Vice Chancellor of UPSA, Sylvester was the NHIS Boss and later a Presidential Staffer… Is not now that they want to contest that I will have a problem with them. Atubiga is even my favorite Presidential candidate. Let us all work in UNITY for Victory 2020”.
