A 22-year-old man has drowned to his death in the Densu River at Densuano in Koforidua, a suburb of New Juaben South Municipality.

The young man identified as Kwame Iron who just turned 22 years was at a section of the Densu River which has been turned into a beach with his female friends.

Kwame Iron who has no swimming skills attempted to impress the girls who were with him with the skills he boasted of possessing.

When he was struggling for help, the girls who were all frightened took to their heels when they noticed the incident. Before help got to Kwame Iron, he was already dead.

A relative of Kwame Iron who spoke with Starr News revealed that the deceased did not have swimming skills hence he is shocked he went to swim at a time the water level was high as a result of the heavy downpours being recorded in parts of the region.

The remains of Kwame Iron was retrieved from the river deposited at the morgue for an autopsy to be conducted.
