NIGERIA – A State High Court in Birnin Kebbi has handed down a death sentence to 40-year-old Bello Musa for the brutal murder of 31-year-old Shamsiyya Usman in a hotel within the state.
Musa was found guilty of poisoning the deceased and subsequently fleeing the scene.
According to the prosecution, Bello Musa lodged in a Birnin Kebbi hotel with Shamsiyya Usman, where he allegedly carried out the murder by poisoning her through a soft drink.

Musa then reportedly fled the scene, leaving her body in the room.
The deceased’s body was later discovered and triggered a police investigation that eventually led to Musa’s arrest.
However, a second suspect connected to the case remains at large. The court has ordered that this second accused must be brought to trial once apprehended.
