It’s very touching when stories of people defying all odds to see themselves through education are told and there’s an old adage that says; Education is the key to success.
This has been the case of Elizabeth, a UCC distance education student who has resorted to selling dried fish in support of her tertiary education: a level which many abandon due to how expensive education is in Ghana.
In a video shared by award-winning journalist and senior editor off GHOne News, Nana Aba Anamoah, the anti-tramadol campaigner in the video introduced her friend, Elizabeth who attends the University of Cape Coast but has no one to help her pay tuition fees hence opting to sell in other to make some money for her fees.
“I have a new friend. Meet Elizabeth, a UCC distance education student who sells dried fish, shito etc. to fund her education. BeInspired. What is your excuse?”, she captioned the video.
She shared the story of Elizabeth to be a source of motivation to other young ladies out there who are coming from poor homes and find it difficult to further their education been it Senior High or Tertiary.
