Although is strange in Ghana for a man to marry more than 2 women, but a man named John Bawa Zuure, who happens to be the chief of Tenzug in the Talensi District of the Upper East region, has gone beyond our normal 2 or 3 wives to marrying 23 wives and having given birth to 115 children.

Some of our Ghanaian women wouldn’t want to be second or third wives to any man as they prefer to keep their men to themselves and not share with anyone. But we are tempted to ask how did these wives of the chief agree to marry him even though they know he has other wives and they are just going to add up the number of wives.

This includes children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He said some members of the family are working outside the region but currently, 320 of them live with him in his House.
