He is believed to have transferred around $1 billion worth of oil revenues to his private bank accounts in 2006.

Mohammed VI became the King of Morocco in 1999 after the death of his father. He inherited around 40 percent stake in SNI, a large, formerly state-owned Moroccan investment company.
SNI has controlling stakes in Attijariwafa, the largest bank in Morocco; Managem Group, a mining company; Consumer, a sugar company; Centrale Laitiere, dairy firm; and other assets. Forbes estimated his net worth at $2.1 billion.
