Truth be told the Kumawood movie industry has gradually overtaken the Ghallywood which most movie lovers in Ghana thought will take the country international

Ghallywood stars are now migrating to join their colleagues at Kumawood which they used to refer to as inferior. It is true that they need to work on some of their storylines and their movie directing but they are breaking grounds and amassing huge followers in Ghana.

The industry although has been set back by the unregulated influx of Indian and Spanish Telenovelas, it’s still the biggest movie industry in Ghana if you ask me. Ghallywood is dying out. Kofas media is now the only hope to rescue it.

Kumawood didn’t reach this stage on it own.There are several, number of Kumawood actresses and actors that have nurtured it to this stage that we are all proud of and they deserve a mention.

Nana Ama Mcbrown born Felicity Ama Agyemang is one of the pioneers of the Kumawood movie industry. Born on the 15th of August, the talented actress found mainstream success following her rousing performance in the Twi-language movie Asoreba.

Asoreba is the movie that many perceive as the movie that ushered Kumawood into the mainstream movie industry in Ghana. Nana Ama Mcbrown starred alongside Agya Koo and Mercy Asiedu in that movie.

Since then, Nana Ama has shown her versatility by taking on different roles and played them to perfection. As at 2017, Nana Ama has acted in over a hundred Kumawood movies. She deserves to be honored.
