Legendary Ghanaian footballer, Michael Essien, has finally transitioned into coaching after hanging up his boots following a very long career with his last club, Azerbaijani side Sabail FK.
Essien has landed a job as coach joining the coaching staff of Danish team FC Nordsdjaelland.
The club was proud to announce the Black Star’s legend’s appointment with a post on their social media handles this morning.
“Welcome, Essien. The former Black Star and pro player, Michael Essien, is joining our coaching staff this season. He’s gonna assist the coaches and participate in the training sessions alongside the players,” the Danish club signed on Twitter.
Essien also responded with his tweet, “I am delighted to have joined @fcnordsjaelland coaching staff as part of my development towards my full coaching licence. I will also be assisting the players on and off the pitch as part of my role,”
