Momo vendor killed at Manso-Asaman

It now looks like mobile money vendors are now the target for armed robbers in the country as another one has also been killed at Manso-Asaman in the Ashanti Region.

According to the information, the deceased, identified as Augustine Mensah, was ambushed, stabbed, and later shot to death by unknown assailants.

It said Augustine received a call late at night from someone believed to be a customer requesting to do a mobile money transaction. He left in a rush to attend to the customer only for his lifeless body to be found a few moments later near the Danyame River.

Some locals think he might have fought his assailants before his untimely death, while others think he was singled out on purpose.

The 33-year-old Mensah, his wife Sakina Iddrisu, and their two-year-old son resided in Manso Yawkrom.

Sakina, who is devastated by the loss, said she couldn’t believe it and said her husband had no known difficulties.

“He is the only one who knows what led to this. No one can tell except him and God,” she said.

The community is in shock and grief over the death of a respected member, and the police have opened an inquiry into the murder.
