Motorbike thief nabbed at 62nd Independence Day parade in Tamale

As the people of Tamale and its environs have gathered at the Aliu Mahama stadium in Tamale celebrate the 62nd Independence day which also happens to be the first time a national event of such nature has taken place outside the capital.

A man who is currently in the grips of police decided to try his luck by trying to steal a motorbike parked at the venue of the independence celebration.

According to eyewitnesses, the suspect who is yet to be identified tried using a different key to start the motorbike when an alarm was raised leading to his arrest by the police who immediately handcuffed him and took him away.

There has been heavy security presence since last week within the Tamale Metropolis which was chosen as the venue for the celebration under theme “Celebrating Peace and Unity’ seeks to among other things celebrate the peace roadmap attained by the Dagbon area.
