Kumawood actress Janet Brefo Yankson popularly known as Mimi has narrated her sad ordeal she went through in the hands of a movie producer at the start of her career.
The actress in an exclusive bare-it-all interview with GhPage TV disclosed that she was introduced to a producer called Benjamin who promised to help her nurture her talent.
Mimi explained that she started a romantic relationship with the producer because she was positive that he could help her become one of the biggest actresses in Ghana.
According to the actress, two years into the relationship with the producer, he never allowed her to cast in any movie and, her dream of becoming an actress was gradually fading away.
She also revealed that the producer who was also her boyfriend physically abused her on countless occasion where she had to be admitted at the hospital.
The Kumawood actress also disclosed that Benjamin mostly locked her indoors as they were living together to prevent her from interacting with anyone.
In narrating her ordeal, Mimi who couldn’t stand this ill-treatment decided to break off the relationship as Benjamin was not ready to offer her any assistance in regards to her career.
Mimi added that she left his house after two years and lodged in a hotel for one month to avoid any confrontation with him.
According to the actress, after her horrible experience with the producer, she lost interest in acting and decided to pursue other opportunities.
However, she later decided to pursue her dream of becoming an actress again and has currently been featured in several movies.
Mimi was one of the actresses who engaged in a serious fight with another actress known as Franca on set.
