Multimedia Journalist Beaten Over Reporting ‘Kumaca Rampant’ Death

Some staff of Kumasi Academy (KUMACA) in the Asokore Mampong have assaulted a Multimedia journalist who works with Nhyira FM in Kumasi after he was prevented from speaking to authorities of the school about the cause of deaths of some students of the school.

According to him ‘Malik Awuku,’ some tutors assaulted him after he officially identified himself as a journalist from Nhyira FM within the Kumasi Metropolis.

The victim added “From nowhere, they attacked me from the back and shook me violently……They confiscated my recorder and deleted everything on it”.

Recounting on the stations morning show on Tuesday, “Initially I was of the view that their hostility towards me was a joke but I saw they were more than serious so I had to run for my life”.

Reports emerging indicate that security men at the school’s entrance have been given stern orders by authorities to prevent journalists who want to seek information about the possible causes of the deaths.

Meanwhile, the school has been closed down temporarily for further investigations by a team of health experts over the scary and mysterious death of students.
