Fante rapper and former signee of Samini’s Highgrade Family Kofi Kinaata has revealed that until he was discovered by Samini, he had no plans of doing music professionally because he was just doing it for fun.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with NYDJ on his BTM show disclosed that he had a passion for football instead but he wrote songs for his friends who wanted to be musicians.
“I used to write stuff for my friends who would claim all the ‘fans’ at various events. They always came back asking for more. I knew I would sing but I was not prepared at the time. I was taken by surprise…” Kofi Kinaata said.

He went on to say that his failure to buy common football boots led him to switch from becoming a professional footballer to becoming a musician. Because he didn’t need to buy a microphone before rapping to people.

The musician who joined Samini’s High-Grade Family in 2013 left the label after working with them for Five(5) years in 2018 and currently working as an independent artiste.
