Information reaching Ghpage.com indicates that the CEO of Menzgold, Nana Appiah Mensah has finally been released from police custody.
Nana Appiah Mensah was granted bail on 26th July 2019 but remained in police custody after he failed to meet the bail requirement of 1 billion cedis with five sureties.
Prior to his release, the lawyer for Nana Appiah Mensah pleaded with the court to reduce the bail bond to 5 million cedis.
The court presided by Judge Harriet Naa Akweley Quaye maintained the bail of 1 billion cedis but the conditions for the sureties were reviewed.
According to sources, the case has been adjourned to 3rd September 2019 as he has been charged with operating a bank without a license and defrauding by false pretense.
Nana Appiah Mensah popularly known as NAM1 was arrested on 11th July upon his arrival in Ghana after spending several months in Dubai.
