Asiedu Nketia, the general Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has accused the Flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of embarking on a lying spree to the Ghanaian electorates in his ongoing campaign tour.
Mr.Nketia said , Nana Addo is too desperate to win power, and he is throwing dust in the eyes of Ghanaians.
He further on stated that, Nana Addo and the NPP have been telling lies about the establishment of factories in each of the 216 districts, provision of free Senior High Schools (SHS) and a whole lot.
According to Mr Nketia–‘We have said that many of the statements that he has said are not based on truth, they are lies, we wanted to expose some of his lies and half-truths, we wanted an opportunity to expose him, a debate between him and President Mahama exclusively, but even though we called for it, we won’t take it on a platform of disrespect,’ he stated.
He indicated that NDC members who will attend the debate will not be representing the party.
Asked on Ultimate breakfast show by Lantam Papanko, if the President will be watching the IEA debate, he retorted, ‘How would I know what the President will be doing in his private residence’.
The NDC party and the President have boycotted a presidential debate organised by the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA).
