The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) during their Unity Walk in Kumasi has launched another Vigilante group to counter the activities of NPP’s Invisible and Delta Forces.

The launch of this NDC’s ‘The Hawks’ makes it the 3rd Vigilante group of the opposition party; They already have ‘Azoka Boys’ and ‘Bolga Bulldogs’.

During the Unity Walk in Kumasi graced by the immediate past president of Ghana, Mr. John Dramani Mahama, and other important NDC dignitaries, there was a heavy presence of heavily built machomen all wearing Black T-Shirts with the inscription “The Hawks”.

However, the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has warned and instructed both the ruling NPP and the Opposition NDC to dissolve all vigilante groups associated with their parties.

In a statement to Ghanaians, the NCCE cautioned Ghanaians that “the discourse of activities of vigilantism should not be politicized, but should be addressed dispassionately with the nation’s interest and security at heart.”

But none of the two major political parties has taken any step to dissolve vigilante groups associated with their party.
