The NDC will build more mortuaries in Zongo communities if voted into power- John Mahama

NDC’s Presidential Aspirant John Dramani Mahama in an interview whiles reading from the manifesto mentioned the NDC if voted into power will build more mortuaries in Zongo Communities.

Seated on Woezor TV, Ex-President Mahama maintained that building morgues in the Zongo Communities forms part of his party’s plan to develop the Zongo localities.

He estimated of building over 300 mortuaries. John Mahama stated that this initiative by the NDC will go a long way to help the Zongo region in handling and preserving of dead bodies.

“..we will facilitate the establishment of morgues/mortuary. There has been a long-standing complains about how dead bodies are handled and a lot of the Muslim communities have no been happy…” Mahama said.

John Mahama also talked about the creation of vast recreational centres in the Zongo Communities for the purpose of making the suffer less in getting a place to hold big and small events.

“…because of the nature of Zongos and other deprived urban settlements, there are no places they can have their social events and their recreational facilities so we will identify areas where we can create a good environments so when they have weddings and other things they can use..”

Meanwhile, John Mahama says his government will legalise the commercial operation of motorbikes popularly known as Okada when voted into power in 2021.

According to him, the Okada business has become a means of sustenance for young people who are unemployed.

Addressing people during his tour of Kpando in the Volta Region, he stated that “our law says okada is illegal, but it is a reality it has come to stay and you can’t stop it. So, I say when we come into office, we legalise it but we will regulate it.”

Anyone interest in pursuing an okada business will be trained and also educated to obey all needed traffic regulations, John Mahama added.
