The death of one’s mother can be a very traumatic experience, especially when you developed a deep connection to her.
The death of a mother could make you devastated enough to make decisions that can prove to be life-altering, it was a similar situation for Ghana’s ‘iconic rapper, Obrafour. The rap icon has admitted he nearly lost his faith in God following his mothers demise.
Obrafour has revealed that when he lost his mum at a very tender age, he was in senior high and the pain made him drop out of school and become a ‘kubolor’.
Obrafour also said the event was so traumatic he nearly became an atheist.
In an interview on Suncity FM he said;
“In 1997 my mum sadly passed on when I gained admission at St. Peters in Akwatia to further my education. I dropped out of school following her demise,”
He further said;
“My faith in God went down after my mother died. I started living the ‘kuborlo’ life…It was very painful at that time, but now I know that no matter how situations may be, God can change bad things for better. I regained and renewed my strength in Him [God] and it paved the way for ‘Pae Mu Ka’ to come.”
