Ghanaian Diva, Victoria Lebene last Wednesday together with Gifty Asante, Peter Ritchie, Joe Wackle, Zion Felix and a host of other celebrities who were born in the month of July donated some items to the Dzorwulu special school.

The event dubbed “July For Love Initiative” is spearheaded by Victoria Lebene and its organized by celebrities who were born in the month of July. They organize and donate to needy schools and share their love with them.

It was on this basis that Vickie, the star actress in “Bitter Sweet Wine” and her friends donated some items including soap, clothes, drinks, bottled water, diapers, biscuits, books and other items to the Dzorwulu special school.

Speaking to Ghpage.com after the event, Miss. Lebene agreed the movie industry has been stagnant for some time now. Asked what she thinks is likely the cause, Ghanaian Diva blamed it squarely on the media.

“I blame the media for all these problems in the movie industry. They care more about the negative news than to really concentrate on the little good that is being done by some players in the industry like myself.”

“Bloggers and the mainstream media prefer to write and talk about the negative things celebrities do or say than to talk about the good in the industry that will push us far.”

“Just One phone conversation I granted on Radio in few minutes lands me into several headlines that are UNCALLED FOR!. The fact that I granted and respected a call on an issue that is PAST, GONE & TRASHED OUT doesn’t mean it deserves to be news.”

“Someone cannot grant a media conversation and still enjoy their lives in sanity! Why are some of our media so bent on giving absurd headlines? Out of the many things and works that I do, only the absurd and flaws are being projected.”

” PLEASE: let’s be each other’s keeper, let’s promote ourselves and change the negative narrative of Africa and the people in it! I am not perfect but at least I’m ready to serve my country and be helpful in my little Way!”.

Ghanaian Diva was the actress in “Bitter Sweet Wine”, the short movie that recently won the Golden Short Film Award at the Golden Movie Awards 2017.
