The owner of NET2 TV, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong who is also the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Assin Central has reacted to the explosion that killed one of his staff members.
Mohammed Ashley Yakubu is a reporter with NET2 TV and the official presidential reporter for the TV Station. He, unfortunately, lost his life during last Saturday’s Atomic Junction Gas Explosion.
Reacting to the incident on Adom TV “Badwam”, Kennedy Agyapong who happens to be the owner of Kencity Media, the owner of NET2 TV, revealed that it appears it was the destiny of the reporter to die in that gas explosion.
According to him, the staff was warned not to step out of NET2 TV building which is situated at Madina, near the site of the blast. They were given caution not to on the generator till the situation is calmed.
“They were even warned not to put on the generator but he decided to go to the scene to take footages and died in the process”, he revealed.
“Honestly from the angle that it’s coming from, I don’t whether destiny is the same as acts of God, because I learnt that they were cautioned not to move out and stay calm but because of the love for his job, he went out to work which makes me think that he was destined to die that night” Keneddy Agyapong said.
He further sent his condolences to the bereaved family and stated Mohammed Ashley Yakubu is irreplaceable. He further added his voice to the calls for the government to clamp down on the irresponsible set up of filling stations.
