A 73 years old nanny has been sentenced for 15 years after she was found guilty of child abuse and second-degree murder.
Oluremi, the nanny was sued for pouring nearly eight ounces of milk down an 8-month old child Enita Salubiโs throat, leading to her death.

Oluremi, testifying in her defense had said she was โcup-feedingโ the baby to ensure it didnโt go hungry, a practice common in Nigeria.
She said in court after she was sentenced;
โPlease forgive me. I didnโt mean to kill your child,โ
Prince Georgeโs County Circuit Court Judge Karen Mason ย before sentencing Oluremi said;
โWhile I donโt find the defendant is an evil-intentioned baby slayer, I also donโt find her actions were accidental.โ

The tragic incident occurred in October 2016, and a nanny cam showed Oluremi who after trying to feed the child from the bottle and the child refused, removed the lid and poured the content into the babyโs mouth forcefully.
Speaking at the sentencing, Enitaโs mother Nikia Porter said she moved from the South Side of Chicago to escape gun violence.
She said;
โI didnโt want to lose my child to a stray bulletโฆ. I lost her to a formula.โ
