No Ghanaian artiste can build a house with money made from music – EL


The perception in the public is that there is money in the music industry judging from the lavish lifestyle of some musicians citing Shatta Wale and Medikal as a typical example.

But rapper EL real name Elorm Adablah has revealed that there is no money in the music industry and no Ghanaian artiste can come out and say he built a house with money he/she got from music.

“Music is just a means to an end. You cannot leave a legacy through music. It is actually the businesses you use your music for. How much can you sell an album or a song in Ghana? Any artiste who says he made a fortune only through music is a liar,”

“Forget about the shows because I have mounted every show in Ghana and they doesn’t pay that much. The money we get from shows is peanuts; it only lasts for a month or two.”

“No artiste in Ghana can tell me he built a house or made a big fortune with an album or a particular song. I challenge any musician to come and contest me. It is how you direct your music into other businesses,”

Talking about why he has become silent in the industry of late, he revealed that he has been engaged in other business that is why not much is head from him these days in terms of music.
