Agnes Asempana, a GCB Bank Limited staff with the Nsawam branch last Friday 5th July 2019 committed suicide by handing in her two-bedroom apartment at Ayekotse, a suburb of the Suhum Municipality in the Eastern Region.
The body of Agnes Asempana was discovered hanging in her bedroom with a nylon rope fastened around her neck. She was discovered in the evening of the same day around 4:00 Pm by her brother identified as Bajerisong Lazarus who paid her visit.
According to her colleagues, Agnes Asempana sought permission to return home and pick an item she has left behind during working hours. Only for her to go and hang herself.
Her colleagues claim they have no idea what may have triggered her to take her life. But other sourced claim it could mostly be because of failed relationships or work-related challenges.

Eastern Regional Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), DSP Ebenezer Tetteh confirming the news revealed that there are no external marks which will immediately suggest a foul play in the death of Agnes Asempana but they are not ruling anything out yet.

The remains of Agnes Asempana has been deposited at the Suhum Government Hospital mortuary pending an autopsy.
