October 6th declared “Wizkid Day” in US by Governor

Governor of Minnesota in the US, Mark Dayton, has in a document signed and sealed declared October 6th as “Wizkid Day” that is a day set aside to celebrate the Nigerian superstar.

According to the Governor, the reason for this huge landmark is to honour the singer for his numerous achievements in music and for his role as a cultural influencer.

The document also listed some achievement of the Nigerian artiste which includes recently becoming the first African artist to sell out the Skyway Theatre Minneapolis, making a Billboard number one hit ‘One Dance’ with Drake, selling out the O2 Arena London, walking the runway with Dolce and Gabbana, winning international awards, and many more.

See the official proclamation which also bore the seal of the US state of Minnesota and signed by the Governor.

Wizkid joins the list of the few Africa artistes who have been fortunate to have a day named after them in foreign countries.
