Highlife legend Ofori Amponsah has made another stuttering revelation ever since he returned back to Secular Music. According to him, was misled to produce songs such as ‘Alewa’ and ’17’.
According to him he was misled by competition from the current crop of musicians to produce those new tracks that did not reflect his style
When Ofori Amponsah first entered mainstream music in early 2000, he rose to become one of the best Highlyfe artists Ghana has ever known.
He released song such as ‘Lady’, ‘Emmanuella’, and ‘Otoolege’ etc. But out of the blues, he quit secular music, opened a church and became an ordained pastor.

Barely 2 years after he was called to preach the gospel, Ofori Ampnsha made a U-turn and declared he was back to secular music. He went on to release ‘Alewa” featuring Sarkodie and ’17’ featuring Kwabena Kwabena.
Well, he is singing another song now, speaking to JoyNews’ MzGee at the album launch of Kwabena Kwabena, the songs he has released since he came back is not his style and he is returning once again to his old style. He said:
“It’s true, people are talking about it, I also know it….You just want to follow the crowd but sometimes when you follow the crowd too, it doesn’t pay because there is something that makes you Ofori Amponsah.”
