Jerry Anaba popularly known as Okomfo Kwadee remains one of my all-time favorite Ghanaian musicians.
Kwadee’s ingenuity and captivating story-telling style of music have always been a delight to listen. And I am wondering how, as a Kwadee fan — and perhaps with many others — missed this classic piece of music he featured the most decorated rapper of our time, Sarkodie.
A music, released as far back as 2013 and I am just hearing it in 2018. Have I been living under the rocks or the song wasn’t promoted enough? In fact, I am astonished.
I stumbled upon it when I was doing my usual online surfing — saw Okomfo Kwadee featuring Sarkodie — and I was like, how, when— then I clicked to listen.
I enjoyed it which I eventually added to my playlist and only to realize it was released 5-year good years ago.? Wow! where have I been! I said to myself.
For the past week, the on and off Hiplife musician “Okomfo Kwadee” is back on a media tour to relaunch his career, that’s refreshing. And I believe his song with Sarkodie ‘s3 menya woa’ also needs to be relaunched if not remixed.
Have you heard the song before? Let me know in the comment section below. If not, listen below;
Okomfo Kwadee in his recent interviews appealed to fans to forget any negative stories or rumors they may have heard about him.
As to why he had been absent from the music scene, he said “I had to accept certain issues. I was growing up so I had to accept certain responsibilities, which took me to various places. That’s the reason for the absence.”
Kwadee has released three new singles including “Gye Wani” and “M3 Botom Ay3 Ma”, which are enjoying airplay around the country.
