Old musicians are not ‘expired’- Kuami Eugene

Lynx Entertainment signee, Kuami Eugene has cautioned Ghanaians to stop referring to veteran musicians as expired.

He explained that Ghanaians are fond of sending old musicians to early retirement before they even take that decision.

The “Wish me well” hitmaker in an interview disclosed that veteran musicians are not obligated to retire for being in the music industry for a long period.

“You have no right to say they are expired because some of these old musicians have not been in the industry for more than 10 years. You listen to Flavor, Timaya and p-square. These musicians have been in the music industry for a long time. It is the mentality of Ghanaians and that needs to be changed”, he fumed.

Kuami also revealed that it was because of this mentality that has led to limited artistes in the country and advised Ghanaians and industry players to open arms for underground artiste for they are the future of Ghana’s Entertainment Industry.

“You can mention top 5 artiste in Ghana for so many years but in Nigeria you can mention over 20 top musicians who are making waves and are supported by Ghanaians. I don’t think anyone is expired”, he noted.

Kuami Eugene has lots of songs to his credit which includes Angela, Wish me well, Confusion among others.

The singer is yet to release his debut album ‘Rockstar’ in December.
