Adom TV presenter Omanhene Kwabena Asante has pulled out of this year’s Radio and Television Personality award (RTP) citing that he does not want to be associated with anything that he views as disrespectful or anything that he thinks will make money out of him without his prior notice.
According to Omanhene, he doesn’t need an award from a discredited award scheme like the RTP’s just to put his name out there because the sort of work he has done over the years in the media space.
Omanhene further added that he feels very disrespected that Prince Mackay and his awards scheme, the RTP will add his name to various categories of the awards without his foreknowledge.
He also stated that he believes his name Omanhene Kwabena Asante is way bigger than the whole RTP Award scheme.
Omanhene Kwabena Asante also expressed his displeasure about the nomination because he strongly believes his name has a constituency and the organizers of the awards are tarnishing it just to promote their awards. He, however, disclosed that he will not sue Prince Mackay and his awards scheme but he is cautioning him to either come out and apologize to him or better still just take his name from the scheme.
The 2018 edition of the Radio and Television Personality Awards is set to come off tomorrow October 6 at the Accra International Conference Center.
