Sad news reaching us indicates over fifteen persons are said to have suffered various degrees of injuries with some left with multiple fractures after a Bawku bound Yuntong bus crashed into a tipper truck at the Central Business District of Walewale in the North East Region.

This incident as confirmed by police happened on Tuesday, March 10, 2020, when the driver of the bus was reported to have failed brakes and rammed into the back of the tipper truck conveying chippings to a construction site.
According to some of the passengers on board the bus, the driver had earlier complained of a malfunctioning brake at Diare but stop briefly to work on it but on reaching Walewale it reoccurred resulting in the crash.
It comes barely 48 hours after a crash on the Tamale-Kintampo Highway where over 30 persons are reported to have died after the vehicles they were traveling on caught fire and went up in flames.

Though no one died in the accident the injuries are said to be severe with victims currently on admission at the Walewale Municipal Government Hospital while others have been referred to the Tamale Teaching Hospital for special care.
