Shocking information reaching our news desk has it that a Nigerian pastor has refused to be the main celebrant of a funeral service simply because the deceased has never fulfilled his tithe obligations.
The issue of whether it is compulsory to pay tithe or not has been discussed on various platforms with some prominent men of God sharing their views and saying it’s not a must for one to pay his tithe.
Other pastors are also of the view that God blesses those who pay their tithe and refuses to have mercy on those that refuse to honour him.
Back to our story, a tweep with the handle @MrOdanz who shared the story with us explained that he didn’t understand why some pastors would love to enrich themselves simply by saying one has to pay tithe whiles narrating the story.
He shared: “A colleague’s father died and their church (name withheld) is refusing to officiate the burial.They claim he stopped attending the church and paying tithe 3 years ago. And if the church must bury him, the family has to pay all the tithe he didn’t pay in the 3 years”
