Patapaa blasts Charterhouse for not nominating him in the New Artiste of the Year Category

The 19th edition of the Awards is scheduled to be held on Saturday, April 14 at the Accra International Conference Center with the release of the nominees

One Corner hitmaker, Patapaa is angry that his name wasn’t added to the New Artiste of the Year category, adding that he is better than all those who were nominated.

The Swedru-based musician managed to gain two nominations; Hiplife song of the Year and Popular Song of the Year category but according to him, he should have gained a nomination in the New Artist of the Year category because he just got into the mainstream in 2017.

He spoke to Sampson Afodofe on Radio GIJ to voice out his displeasure, whilst jabbing the VGMA board for being bias.

He said:

“I was not singing during the days of Kojo Antwi. I only came out in 2017 so I should have been in the New Artiste of the Year Category”

“Everyone jammed to my song even outside the shores of Ghana, Not forgetting the controversies that came along with it from false prophets saying it was demonic”

“Each official of Charterhouse has their own Artiste they manage or have managed. So why won’t they support them instead of someone like me who came from nowhere and knows no one”
