#1. KOFI ANNAN – FORMER UN SECRETARY GENERAL

Kofi Annan who is a twin was born in the Kofandros section of Kumasi on the 8th of April 1938 into an aristocratic family. He, however, attended Mfantsipim secondary school in Cape Coast. Kofi Annan is married to Nane Maria Annan, who is his second wife and he has 3 kids, Kofi Annan, Nina Cronstedt de Groot and Ama Annan.

#2. TEDDY OSEI – OSIBISA BAND UK CHART TOPPERS

The renowned saxophone and flute player who was named Christened Francis at birth was born in the Asante regional capital Kumasi on the 8th of December 1937. Teddy Osei was named after the Ashanti King Osei Tutu. Osei’s father was an amateur musician who played the horn in the local church band, thus exposing Osei to music while he was still young. Other Members of the Osibisa band are Kiki Gyan and Mac Tonto both of blessed memory.
