The police have finally released the photos and identities of the 8 kidnappers who kidnapped the two Canadian girls. Bailey Jordan Chitty, 20 and Lauren Patricia Catherine Tilley, 19 were kidnapped on 4th June 2019 at Kumasi.
The girls were forced into a car around 8:30 pm on that 4th June when they stepped out of their apartment at Silver Spring in Kumasi.
The two Canadian ladies were in Ghana on International Volunteer activities and they were kidnapped in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region after they stepped out of their hotel room where they were lodging as they perform their activities on the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
In early hours of Wednesday, 12th June, the joint security team including a team from Canada rescued the girls at a house at Akyease in the Kwabre East District of the Ashanti region.
According to Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, the minister for information, 8 people have so far been arrested in connection with the kidnapping.
Out of the 8 arrested, 3 of them are Nigerians who are living in Ghana illegally. The Remaining 5 are Ghanaians. One of the 5 Ghanaians is a notorious Kotoko fan who is famous for causing mayhem at Kotoko training camps.
Allegedly, the same man, Seidu aka Mba is also a member of the Pro NPP vigilante group, Delta Force. It has been alleged he was one of the guys who stormed a courtroom to free its members standing trial.
