The township of Asante Mampong in the Asante Region has been thrown in shock after the police in the area arrested a 12-years boy for leading a robbery gang to terrorize residents in the area.
The minor whose name is been kept was arrested in the company of another armed robber identified as Kwame Frimpong who is 19 years old.
According to the Mampong Divisional Motor Transport and Traffic Directorate (MTTD) Commander, Superintendent Isaac Baah who is worried about the rise of robberies in the area revealed that the modus operandi of the gang was to lay ambush and rob their victim mostly nursing students.

He stated that the armed suspects always hide under the cover of darkness to attack their victims who are students and disposes them of their belongings including mobile phones and handbags at night before they were arrested.
He also revealed that both robbers have since been granted police bail after they were identified by some of their victims.
He is however expressed shock that the victims are refusing to cooperate with the police to thoroughly investigate the matter which is why his outfit was compelled in the first place to grant them bail.
