Madam Doris Mawuto Kashiku, the woman who poured hot palm nut soup on Superintendent Isaac Tetteh, the Police Commander of Assin Praso in the Assin North Municipality of the Central Region has finally spoken about why she did what she did.

In an interview with Adom FM monitored by Ghpage.com, the woman in her mid-40s, Madam Doris Mawuto Kashiku said she did it because the police commander sexually harassed her.

Explaining, the woman revealed that the police team who were there to calm the angry youth were rather behaving very violently and were abusing many of the people gathered.

To get evidence, she brought out her phone and started taking video shots of what was happening. But when the police commander saw she was taking videos of what they were doing, he got angry and attacked her.

According to the woman, Superintendent Isaac Tetteh demanded the mobile phone she was using to take the video shots. But she refused and placed it in her pants to deter the police commander from taking it but he disregarded and placed his hands in her panties and pulled the phone out from her innermost part.

This was what angered her to pour the soup on the police commander for sexually abusing her in front of many people who were watching afraid.

“The police were acting violently so I decided to video whatever was happening when the Commander suddenly held my hand in an attempt to take the phone; I resisted and hid the phone in my panty but he wouldn’t stop and pulled the phone out from my panty,” she narrated on Accra-based Adom Fm.

Upon her arrest, Madam Doris Mawuto Kashiku has been charged with assaulting a public officer and resisting arrest. She was arraigned before the court but she has since been granted bail.
