Police launch manhunt for Shatta Wale’s sister

Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale appeared before the court today, 7th December 2021 after he was arrested for faking his gunshot attack.

Shatta Wale originally known as Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr. is facing a charge of Publication of false news that caused fear and panic in the public domain.

The Prosecutor Chief Inspector Dennis Terkpetey pleaded with the court to order the counsel of the accused person to produce Shatta Wale’s sister who is also a suspect.

The sister of the musician is believed to be the person who reported the alleged fake gunshot attack to the East Legon Police.

The counsel for the accused persons also prayed the court to adjourn the case to the last weekend in January since his client will have lots of engagement during the festive period.

The court presided by Justice Emmanuel Marvin Essandoh then adjourned the case to 25th January 2022.

The ‘My Level’ hitmaker was arrested on 19th October 2021 in connection with the false publication about an alleged gunshot attack.

Three other persons known as Kojo Owusu Koranteng, Eric Vanetor and Iddrisu Yussif were also arrested for allegedly spreading false information.

They all pleaded not guilty and were granted a 100,000 cedis bail with two sureties each after spending some days at the Ankaful prison.
