Veteran Ghanaian actor Mikki Osei Berko popularly known as Master Richard has threatened to embark on a clothless demonstration over the influx of foreign content on local stations.
The actor who is also a broadcaster explained that this foreign content has played a role in the current poor condition of the Ghana Movie Industry.
Mikki Osei also indicated that since there are no policies governing the influx of foreign content, most filmmakers are out of jobs.
The renowned actor also suggested that there should be a ban on telenovelas and also implement policies that can save the industry.
“It is the responsibility of the government to put structures in place for the arts industry. If by December, nothing is done about these foreign contents on television screens, I’ll personally march NAKED to the Jubilee House. Television stations show these foreign contents during prime time”, Mikki Osei Berko disclosed.
The actor is popularly known for playing Master Richard in Taxi Driver and Dada Boat in Dada Boat.
He has also served as the assemblyman for the Ayidiki electoral area for one term and is also the executive director of Media gold Productions in Ghana.
Mikki Osei Berko worked extensively with Radio Gold, a private radio station based in Accra, which he left in July 2003 to join Happy FM.
He has also starred in several movies and has absolutely carved a niche for himself in the Entertainment Industry.
