The year 2019 was declared the Year of Return by the government of Ghana as it marked the 400 years after the first slave ship left Africa, with the aim of bringing African diasporans back to Africa specifically Ghana to settle and invest in the country.
Lots of Black personalities who trace their ancestry to Africa and are known internationally visited the country; Ghana to mark the momentous celebration.
Many other Superstars also came to Ghana and join this great commemoration.

As part of the year of return initiative, the American Icon had a premiere at the Silverbird Cinema where she had lots of fun and was warmly welcomed in Ghana, she stated in an interview that ” she believes Ghana is a haven for those seeking inner peace and a pure connection with their roots, unlike Hollywood”.
Adrienne-Joi-Johnson spent her days touring some natural sceneries and had the chance to see some other tourist sites.
Naomi Campbell
Naomi Campbell was spotted in Ghana in January 2019, though she has been seen mostly in the country without public notice, her appearance this time formed part of the celebration of year of return where African Diasporans were in attendance.
The English model, actress, and businesswoman did not keep silent on her return she made it a point to visit fashion students at Radford University in Accra.
Anthony Anderson
Anthony Anderson is a household name in sitcom. He is famed in acting, writing, game show hosting and also comedy.
The 49-year-old American figure was in Ghana for the year of return.
Boris Kodjoe
Boris Kodjoe has a very long name Boris Frederic Cecil Tay-Natey Ofuatey-Kodjoe, who is an Austrian-born actor of German and Ghanaian parents; Eric Kodjoe and Ursula Kodjoe. He came to Ghana in 2019 to visit his father’s country and also to form part of the year of return.

Born to a Sierra Leonian father and a Ghanaian mother, Idris Elba is a global sensation evidently in the movie cycle. Idris Elba couples as an English actor, producer, writer, musician, DJ, rapper, and singer.
He has also registered his name in the year of return history books. known for his famous movie roles such as Fast & Furious (HOBBS & SHAW) he has also had a feature with Ghana’s rap king Sarkodie.
Ludacris

2019 declared by the government as the year of return has made all foreigners who come to Ghana get tagged as one who has come to partake in the historic event.
